Can an AI assistant handle insurance renewals?
Yes, the drafting part. An AI assistant can work a 90, 60 and 30-day renewal pipeline: it lists what's coming up, writes re-shop notes from the current policy and drafts the renewal email to the client. A licensed person reviews, re-shops, quotes and sends. It doesn't change coverage or advise.
What it drafts
- Each morning, the renewals due in the next 90 days, with who owns each and what's been done.
- For each, a re-shop note: current carrier, premium, change from last term, and anything in the file worth a look.
- A renewal email in your agency's voice, left as a draft for approval.
- Reminders at 60 and 30 days for anything untouched.
Day one: Renewal Rescue
On setup, the assistant lists every renewal in the next 90 days that nobody has touched, so the backlog is visible on the first day.
Why it matters
A lost renewal costs the commission every year it would have renewed: about 10–15% of premium, so roughly $250–375 a year on a $2,500 home and auto account. That's an estimate from published commission ranges, not a measured result.
